DAY 1

BREAKFAST AT LALAXTLI

FLAVORS WITH HISTORY

My day began at Lalaxtli, a charming restaurant located in a former armory from the time of the Manila Galleon. Once a coastal defense outpost, it now offers a cozy atmosphere surrounded by tropical vegetation and ocean views.

After a delicious breakfast, I set off toward the crater of a nearby volcano. The hike rewarded me with a breathtaking panoramic view of the crater and Chacala Bay—a landscape that invites reflection and a deep connection with nature.

HIKE TO THE CRATER

UNMATCHED PANORAMIC VIEWS

The trail to the crater took me through lush jungle, where birdsong and the rustling of wind through the trees created a magical atmosphere. At the summit, the view was stunning: the volcanic crater stretched before me, surrounded by the vast bay of Chacala—a sight that will remain etched in my memory.

VISIT TO TAO

ART AND NATURE IN HARMONY

Back in town, I visited TAO, a ranch that produces textiles, furniture, and organic crops for the Mar de Jade hotel. This place is a beautiful example of how tradition and sustainability come together, offering products that reflect the soul of the region.

LUNCH AT CHICO’S

AUTHENTIC FLAVORS FROM THE SEA

At midday, I headed to Chico’s, a beachfront restaurant renowned for its pescado zarandeado, ceviches, aguachiles, and more. The freshness of the fish and the warmth of the service made this meal truly memorable.

STAYING AT MAR DE JADE

A WELLNESS RETREAT

My stay at Mar de Jade was the perfect way to close the day. I stayed in a room with an ocean view, where the sound of the waves and the tropical breeze created a peaceful atmosphere. This resort is well-known for being self-sustainable—it has its own farm, produces its own textiles and furniture, and provides jobs to hundreds of people from nearby communities. A hotel that truly embodies the word CONSCIOUSNESS in every sense.

NIGHT OF LIGHT

THE MAGIC OF BIOLUMINESCENCE IN CHACALA

That night, I walked along the beach in Chacala and witnessed one of the most magical natural phenomena I’ve ever seen: bioluminescence. This phenomenon occurs thanks to marine microorganisms, mainly dinoflagellates, that emit light when disturbed. Walking along the shore or moving your hands in the water, small blue sparks lit up—as if the ocean answered with glimmers of liquid stars.

The water’s temperature, the darkness of night, and the natural conditions of the area create the perfect stage for this phenomenon. It’s a deeply sensory experience that awakens wonder and reminds us how alive our planet is, even in the darkest of nights.

DAY 2

TEMAZCAL

ANCESTRAL PURIFICATION

The second day began with a temazcal ceremony—an ancestral tradition that purifies both body and mind. The experience was deep and revitalizing, connecting me with the earth and the local culture.

ORGANIC BREAKFAST AT MAR DE JADE

FLAVORS THAT NOURISH

Later, I enjoyed an organic breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant, made with fresh ingredients grown on their own ranch. The variety of flavors and the quality of the food made this meal a delight for the senses.

SPA AT MAR DE JADE

COMPLETE RELAXATION

The spa at Mar de Jade offered me a relaxing massage and an acupuncture session, immersing me in a profound state of wellness. Later, I visited a local shop where the clothing captures the essence of the place—perfect for bringing home an authentic memory.

SUNSET YOGA

HARMONY WITH THE ENVIRONMENT

To end the day, I joined a sunset yoga session in one of the studios at Mar de Jade. The connection with nature and the serenity of the moment left me with a deep sense of fulfillment.

This journey to Chacala was an immersion in nature, culture, and well-being, offering experiences that nourish both body and soul. If you’re looking for a destination that blends adventure, relaxation, and authenticity, Chacala is the perfect place.
