A Sunday afternoon in laid back Los Ayala Mexico (Los Ayalas according to the locals), which is just north of Punta Raza is a wonderful treat for families who vacation in Riviera Nayarit.

On Los Ayala beach, as parents and grandparents look on under thatched palapas, children play with inflatable toys and young people play soccer in the sand. Vacationing adults enjoy a delicious meal such as traditional grilled fish or ceviche (lime-marinated seafood) at one of the thatched-roof restaurants.

Jaltembay Bay Area

Los Ayala Mexico is the smallest and most southern of the three Riviera Nayarit towns that make up the region of Jaltemba Bay (along with Guayabitos and La Peñita). The distance to Rincon de Guayabitos is but a stone’s throw away. This small Pacific Coast beach community becomes very popular on weekends as locals flock its golden-sand beach that stretches for one kilometer (0.6 miles).

The warm turquoise blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and impressive bluffs help make this a beautiful Riviera Nayarit destination and fun for the whole family.

The area’s beaches include the main beach plus Playa del Beso (also referred to as Playa Freideras or the Los Ayala Kissing Beach), which is just over the steep hill on the south end of the main beach. At low tide Playa Freideritas beach is also accessible.
